Kringle not Danish?

The quest to control land is neverending, and the fact that it is limited in quantity makes it worse. Now Denmark, which counts Greenland as a territory (it was its fomer colonial owner) wants to claim the North Pole is Danish land because it is possible that an ice ridge of Greenland undergirds it.

But here is what is problematic: Say Denmark wins out and it is proved to be part of Greenland. Greenland is currently in the process of fighting for total autonomy from Denmark. That means all this fight that Denmark is doing would be for naught because the land would then a part of the independent country of Greenland. Kris Kringle would no longer be Danish. And if Kringle is not Danish - then what is?!

Sorry....couldn't resist that one!
