The Death of Michael Jackson

Dear Readers,

I am, like I am sure millions of people are, absolutely devastated by the sudden death of Michael Jackson. This morning I find myself blasting Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson songs over and over while doing a walking/grieving dance and sobbing. "I'll Be There". "ABC". "Dancing Machine". "Billie Jean" "Bad" "Human Nature"..... I must grind, shake, sway and sing to wring out the sorrow and the anger.

He is one of the persons I have feared for in the 49-52 year old Chiron Return age group under Chiron in Aquarius because I know when there is too much pain.....too much blocked and unexpressed emotion at this time of life, you are a very high risk of a (fatal) heart attack. The Chiron Return time is when you can either get to leave your legacy or you get taken out of this realm.

Ohhhhhh, I grew up listening to and watching him and his brothers. He is older than me and I dreamt as a little girl that he would somehow find me and dance/sing me away to someplace wonderful.... I remember when the "Off the Wall" album debuted on TV, nearly 3 dozen of us jammed into one living room to watch the screen. We knew we were seeing groundbreaking history!! And when he moonwalked on the Motown special...."Billie Jean" and "Thriller"......This was a mindblowing, extraorindarily talented genius.

This man MADE the musci channel MTV.

This man was an incredible humanitarian.

And how my heart broke over the year as I watch him get embroiled in those tragic child molestation situations, various lawsuits and financial troubles and surrounded by people who did not help save him from himself. Where were his famous friends? Why didn't any of them forcibly get him private psychological help? Celebrities have ben foribly put into treatment for things? Oh my god how crushing this was because I could see it standing in the way of all the good with which he was gifting the WORLD with his music, his entertainment skills, his business acumen and his philanthropy.

I was also troubled by people's fascination, as gets done to Virgos often, with his virginal lifestyle and apparent awkward and very private sexuality and intimate life. It was no one's business who he was having sex with and how, outside of a community need to address anything involving children, of course.

It was not hard to see he was in turmoil, with what was happening with his body...from the surgeries and changes of skin pigmentation to the accidents that broke bones and set his hair on fire...and the dramatic weight loss.

I recognized, as another Virgo what it is like to be gifted and have people be jealous and do anything they could to try to make you out to be an imperfect, deeply flawed and worthless individual when humanitarian and compassionate goals at at the core of you. I have had other intuitives, and telephone (and only telephone, never in-person) callers be absolutely disgustingly vicious to me because they could not bear it that I am both a beautiful and talented woman who get many blessings in life as I journey. These people felt they had to lie and make up reasons to attack me or to try to minimize my success. I learned to keep to myself, focus on the best me, refine my talents and be very selective about who I let into my personal life. I learned to ignore nasty false criticism in the form of Internet feedback when I realized it was not actually "real". I primarily do success coaching and private astrology consultations now because I am D*** good at it (I am sure that is upsetting some folks that I can be honest and say that aloud) and I can be very selective about working with people. I can choose to spend my time with people who are honestly looking live their best life. I also keep a small inner circle of real friends and guard my private time so I can rest and have leisure.

I recognized long ago Michael Jackson was showing all the characteristics we Virgos show when we can no longer take the horrific pain of other people's machinations, criticisms, gossip, and cruelty: The Virgo becomes very withdrawn and eccentric, separates from anyone who could cause pain, has very little trust in people except for perhaps innocent children, and pours their emotions into some artistic talent such as music, writing or painting.

Astrologically, there are lessons to learn here from natal and transiting Chiron, and transiting Neptune and a few other things in his cart. But I will come back to it when I can compose myself....

For now.....you can search my blog for the Chiron in Aquarius two-part series to give you some clue......about a natal wound in being different from others/unique/unusual. Other clues I can give you right now are about Neptune, Neptune in Aquarius, Aquarius in general, Saturn in Virgo and Virgo in general.

It collectively and individually angers me that Michael Jackson was beaten up in this lifetime for not fitting into this world so he did the best to create a world he could live in...but in the end, it appears the distress of it all wore out his body, stopped his heart and killed him on the eve of his legacy-leaving tour. I should note however, the already has left us a great legacy....

But, we - WE in the human community -- helped develop the weaker aspects of Michael Jackson with our insistence that the unusual different and exceptionally talented are unacceptably weird and open for derision and criticism. Clearly he had childhood wounds and some of us did all we could to make him feel more pain with our criticism and gossip. While Michael Jackson had to take responsibility for his actions (and I am angry that he did not just steer clear of children) -- we are all connected and that pain and sorrow blocked up in his heart did not happen in isolation!!

In a very real sense I am glad he is dead and no more will be here to live such a pain-filled life anymore. I am deeply sad that his genius will not gift this world in new ways. But, yes truly, and not as a trite saying, rest in peace Michael Jackson.

So there.......I must go finish my grieving dance and come to terms so I can look at this astrologically for you.

Leaky Vessel - (Uranus, Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius 2009)

The symbol we know for Aquarius is that of a male pouring what appears to be water out of a large vessel. This is also the symbol we see in the Tarot on the Major Arcana card, The Star.

The traits we commonly associate with Aquarius are general friendliness and humanitarian disposition, honesty and loyalty, originality and inventiveness, independence and a strong intellectual, intractability and contrariness, perversity and stubbornness, an unpredictable nature, and  strong ability to be outwardly unemotional/aloof and detached.

Aquarius people are folks we normally experience as rather consistent in their behaviors (despite the unpredictability at time...which is usually evident when they are trying to shock or impress you).

But that will all change in 2009 with the gang pile of Uranus, Neptune and Chiron in this sign. Uranus, taking 7 years to transit the sign, is bringing unusual circumstances and people into the lives of Aquarians. Neptune, taking 14 years to transit the sign, is dissolving the world as Aquarian know it and the choice will be to see through to a higher spiritual plane or live in delusion and lies. Chiron, taking about seven years in Aquarius, is showing these people all the "old tapes" they have in their lives about individual vs group and how they want to be unique in this world, without letting ego run rampant.

The years 2009 and 2010 will not be easy for Aquarius folks who are not accustomed to doing hard work on themselves. Those who have previously gotten through on magnetic charm and superficial relationships with people will find it all coming to a crashing halt. Family, friend and work relationships simply will not move forward and there will be dramatic explosions until true, authentic, full openness, the openness promised by the flow from the vessel, will be required.

If it is not forthcoming, the vessel will leak. Lies, inauthentic connections, disingenuous behavior, selfishness -- it will leak out of that vessel in cracks that cannot be sealed. In plain language, they will be exposed.

This all also applies to with world in general. Humanitarian actions had better be true or they will get exposed as lies at a rate faster than anyone has seen in previous times. People who count on beautiful appearances to turn heads away from the ugliness of their behavior will find themselves in the spotlight with all their flaw exposed. It won't be pretty.

Let's see what happens, and if you want to make any personal notes about your experiences as an Aquarius person, or in being close to someone with a Sun, Moon, Saturn, Chiron or Ascendant in Aquarius, please do post!

Leo Rising, Chiron in Aquarius and the Roar of the Crowd

Be yourself.

I think that is the best way to live. I am hearing from a number of Leo Rising folks about how these last three years and this last year in particular has been rather challenging in terms of relationships with others.

The culprit here, I think, is Chiron in Aquarius going through their 7th house of open enemies. I know I have had an unusual share of complaints, issues and criticism during this time.

(You can read more about Chiron in Aquarius in a two-part series I wrote in 2005: Part I and Part II)

Remember Chiron is about wounding and healing. Perhaps there is a lesson here about checking in with others more about how they are receiving your brilliant sunshine of leadership. Perhaps there is a lesson here about being yourself and not hiding away because of others' jealousy. Perhaps there is a lesson here about learning to truly love yourself.

Sometimes there is nothing wrong with hermiting yourself away (lol, a Virgo would know about that) and re-emerging when you have had a chance to nurture and nourish yourself, regain your composure and give your enemies time to move on to some other interest than criticizing, antagonizing and picking fights with you out of jealousy.

You know you are a good person and good at whatever it is you do. Let them snipe at you; you do not need to roar or snipe in return. Just throw your regal head back, but your dignified chin in the air, smile warmly, laugh and walk by them with your mind focused on you and your next moves in life. You will have taken back your power and they have lost whatever they hoped to gain in trying to extinguish your brilliant Leo Rising light. When you were born, the constellation of Leo was on the horizon, flooding the world with sunshine and light. You were destined to be out front and out front you shall be.

Yes, you have flair, style, drama and, like Aquarius, are at your best when surrounded by a crowd of people. With a Leo Rising you do not hide who you are behind a cool and aloof mask like Aquarius does. (Both Leo and Aquarius are insecure, but the way you mask it is different; Leo shows emotion and Aquarius withholds it). You love people and enjoy seeing them be happy; you are bold about what you want at times because what you want is for your loved friends and family to have the best.

The key right now is to lead from behind. Do not seek a titled leadership position; rather do the job from behind the scenes and give lots of verbal support to others. Instead of being the Chair or Vice Chair, be a regular committee member and do the Chair's job...because most likely you are the most qualified one to do it and the person who is Chair or Vice Chair may even know how to do the job. But shhhhhh! Don't say that aloud. When March 2011 arrives and Chiron enters Pisces and the 8th house (depending on your chart), you will be in position to be back on top and you can breathe a sign of relief.

Think Celine Dion, Muhammed Ali, Donald Trump, Elton John, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Parish Hilton, Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Marilyn Monroe. (Did you know Zsa Zsa and Paris are related? Zsa Zsa was once married to Conrad Hilton and is Paris' great-aunt)

New Moon in Taurus - May 5, 2008

New Moon in Taurus
15º Taurus 22’
May 5, 2008
2:18pm CEST

Family. Home. Community. Love, Good sex. Good food. Money. Comfortable surroundings. Responsibility. Order and Organization.

These are all in play with this lunation in Taurus on May 5. Venus-ruled Taurus governs our commitment to be steady providers for those we love and care about, such as our families and communities. This lunation has not just the Moon but Sun and Venus in Taurus and that calls us to connection with Mother Earth. There is also a grand trine between Pluto in Capricorn, Venus in Taurus, and Saturn in Virgo (which has just returned to forward/direct motion on May 2) make it feel natural that we are bringing the world of organics and environmentally-friendly ways of living into mainstream. Saturn in Virgo is all about organizing ourselves and taking responsibility to heal ourselves and then, using what we have learned, the larger community or world. Pluto in Capricorn is all about being realistic in our transforming of our relationships and the world, especially around issue of business and finances. Venus in Taurus gives us the incentive to plant some flowers and be gentle we go, making showing that order, organization, healing and responsibility can also be beautiful, especially as reflected in our relationships.

Chiron in Aquarius and Neptune in Aquarius are playing strong roles in this New Moon, squaring Taurus and asking us to be real about the wounds that keep us from getting new starts; the wounds that keep us from being radical, original and progressive; the wounds that separate us from the local and larger community. In order to grow and live healthily we must be open and honest about letting everyone express their opinion and offer their gifts and talents. We cannot oppress and suppress others in order to put ourselves first – even if we do it in covert ways and even if we try to present the façade of being humble behind-the-scenes persons. Our ego is seen!

What can you do from May 5 until the Full Moon on May 19? There are many things you can do to get real about your world, to deal with your finances, to enjoy the good things in life, and to transform your work life:

Taurus likes what is real. Do things in a real way. Neptune in Aquarius can bring out the higher spiritual instinct in you or you may struggle with delusions, drugs, too much daydreaming, denial of reality etc and thereby obscure reality and all the positive ways in which you could be contributing to the world. A major delusion we are now undergoing is one in which focusing on the negative, aspects of the world (the problems) instead of the positive (the solutions) is becoming commonplace.
Instead of contributing to the negativity of the world regarding relationships, politics, the environment and business, do something positive:
  1. join a peace rally
  2. support the candidate you like by passing out flyers or making phone calls
  3. find ways to compliment your partner and bring her/him a fresh plant or flowers
  4. spend more time wit your lover learning to be a better sexual partner
  5. volunteer to help people in debt create budgets and improve their finances.

In fact, with Saturn in Virgo in motion, it could be that you may responsibly serve someone well not only by helping them with their budgeting, but in other ways:

Case study: A few years ago, a pre-Saturn Return male client of mine had a woman friend he dated but to whom he never committed despite thinking she was pretty, sexy, caring and intelligent and enjoying her company and thier conversations. It was under the influence of a New Moon in Taurus that May, that he finally committed emotionally and sexually to this woman he cared for. He was tired of the haphazard world of dating and irregular one-night stands and realized he wanted some stability. However, he was still fearful of committing to another person and any responsibility that would entail. He decided to approach it both emotionally and "practically" by telling her he wanted to take their relationship further and asking her to move into his home, so that she would no longer need to spend money on rent and could use it instead to pay off her bills. She moved in with him a month later in June. She was able to pay off her debts and significantly add to her retirement savings (which impressed him), and to create the beautiful home she always wanted to create (which meant he benefited from her decorating, cooking and stable organization of their social life) and he became noticeably happier. During this time he opened up to her emotionally and allowed himself to admit his love for her and to be loved by her. Their living together thus became more than a benevolent financial arrangement. They became engaged nearly a year after she moved in and set a wedding date for the following summer. She was then able to contribute to a joint fund for their wedding and her secret wedding gift to him was to pay for a surprise side-trip during their honeymoon to a place she knew he always wanted to visit (which he really enjoyed!).

Speaking of finances, this New Moon in Taurus is a prime time to get your finances in order using a realistic plan. Examine how you meet your daily needs and look at the lifestyle you desire to live. Decide what makes you happy and what you can do to achieve it that is responsible. Make practical financial goals, commit to a budget (meaning live within your budget!) and create a savings/investment plan. Taurus calls for a moderate, even approach to finances so that when there are lean times, one is not affected and can still enjoy luxuries. Like the lesson of the fable of the ant and the grasshopper, be moderate and save during the abundant times and sit back and enjoy during the lean times.

Venusian Taurus is all about enjoyment and it a good thing to enjoy working at what you love – and it helps you fund the budget you have made! If you are not doing work you love, brush off the CV and apply for new jobs under this New Moon. You should hear a promising response by May 19. (But be cautious about starting any new job between May 26-June 19, the next Mercury Retrograde).

And finally, but not in the least, use this New Moon in Taurus to indulge in sensuality and sexuality as only Taurus can do! Take that luxurious bubble bath, spend an afternoon getting a manicure and pedicure, enjoy some loving, fun, and intense sex with your partner, eat a delicious meal, drink some good wine.

Full Moon in Scorpio - April 20, 2008

Full Moon in Scorpio
April 20, 2008
12:25pm CEDT
0º Scorpio 43’

This Full Moon is a powerful transformative lunation that demands honesty, facing of fears and deep change. What do you want in life? Now is the time to peel away the layers that obscure what you desire.

This Full Moon in Scorpio is the signal to see things as they truly are, not as you wish them to be.

Case study: Two years ago a male client of mine was living in a fantasy world, pining resentfully over a woman he liked, who I will call "Abigail". They had a fun and casual acquaintanceship in group social settings but never a romantic relationship. She moved away for work purposes and he spent several months pining over a fantasy of what they could have been in his mind. He deluded himself into thinking she had abandoned him and their great love relationship. All the while he ignored the women he was dating. He held tightly to the fantasy relationship he had in his mind of "Abigail". Because of this, he denied himself a relationship in which he could have a healthy and stable emotional and sexual expression. Fortunately, after nearly a year he finally awakened from his nightmare of denial by admitting there never was and never would be a relationship between him and "Abigail". He opened his eyes to a woman near him, got to know her and eventually married.

What can you do to take full advantage of this lunation from April 20 until the New Moon on May 5?
It is a time to release the past – people, situations and ways of behaving – and open yourself to a new level of compassion, love, possibilities, open-mindedness and spiritual growth.

It is a time for healing of deep wounds that have intense feelings attached to them, as they are only serving to hurt you and prevent you from moving forward into the future.

Chiron in Aquarius, Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces make this a particularly spiritually invigorating New Moon in Scorpio for awakening from the death-like trance of victim and into the powerful stance of the healer (who is also ready and able to heal others who have suffered the same wounding).

Name your fear – and thereby destroy its power over you.

Share the joy and pain of self-disclosure with someone who has been telling you they want to know YOU for who you really are, in all your imperfections. Stop living in denial and lies (whether direct or through omission). Be honest and find yourself making a human connection that could last a lifetime.

Deal with trust issues – especially if there is a secret that you know has been keeping you and another individual from being as close as you could be. It may feel like destruction at first but after the destruction comes the time of healing and rebuilding in relationships. From there you can expect growth, unconditional love and openness that leads to a more solid relationship, one that could endure for eternity.

Do you have a Leo Rising?

Do you have a Leo Ascendant/Leo Rising?

I would like to hear from those of you that do - and in particular to discuss what you are learning in your 2nd, 7th and 8th houses.

Saturn in Virgo would be in your 2nd house, Neptune in Aquarius in your 7th house and Uranus in Pisces in your 8th house -- so issues of earned income and values (2nd house), other's income or money (inheritances, credit, loans etc), sexual and psychological intimacy (8th house), and relationships such as life partnerships, life partners, businsess partners, open enemies and marriages or potential marriage partners (7th house)are highlighted for you now, as they have been since about 1998 when Neptune entered Aquarius.

Send an email and let me know! I will publish some stories as separate posts and look at what is happening there for the benefit of others

New Moon in Capricorn - January 8, 2008

What an extraordinary New Moon to start 2008! If you are ready to make the most of 2008, now is the time.

This is the best New Moon of 2008 for goal-setting, initiating projects, and making serious commitments for successful achievement.

This first New Moon of 2008 is framed by strongly supportive placements. This year the Sun and Moon in Capricorn are joined by faithful, expansive and optimistic Jupiter in Capricorn, so there is support for believing in the plans you are making. Saturn, which rules Capricorn, is in retrograde in Virgo at present, bringing both a demand for and a tendency towards detailed, careful focus and thought in all our decision-making. On this New Moon there are also two energies alongside Capricorn working to boost the effects of this New Moon, and they come from Sagittarius and Aquarius. Venus and Pluto in Sagittarius lend optimism and faith to your goals. This is because Venus Sagittarius (the heart of generosity) and Pluto in Sagittarius (transformation through growth) highlight our personal goals and their connection to the evolution and quality of the future of humankind. A line-up in progressive Aquarius empowers it even more: Mercury (progressive thinking), Chiron (awareness of wounds and healing), and Neptune (spirituality). This energy adds a visionary ability to dream and see beyond the materials as you are setting your goals. Mars in Gemini has slowed in its current retrograde motion and we are all feeling the effects of it as we find ourselves more carefully watching what we communicate and how we communicate it. Uranus in Pisces is forcing us to stay shockingly focused on the global environment and peacemaking by presenting us with the shocking news of how our consumption affects our planet Earth.

Fear:
The archetype of Capricorn is the Sea Goat, which is actually the mountain goat. Mountain goats climb steep hills with a sure steadiness and do not fall off the side of the mountain. They eventually reach the top through determination. Capricorn qualities are: big-hearted, deeply caring of others, desirous of motivating and teaching others, possessing of stamina, committed, focused, driven, courageous, hard-working, responsible, goal-oriented, a strong leader, and loyal. Capricorn is also ruled by Saturn, a planet with a strong reputation, even among those who do not know a lot about astrology.

Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, is classically associated with conservatism and fear. Yet, fear can actually be a great motivator. Capricorn is the sign which best symbolizes the ability to identify fear, overcome it, and attain success because of it, not in spite of it. Use this New Moon to acknowledge your fears, and face your fears in a positive manner. Make fear a life coach who motivates you to success.

Fortitude:
Like deceased musician James Brown was the hardest working man in show business, Capricorn is the hardest working sign in the zodiac. A realist at heart, Capricorn defines itself by being a self-sufficient and dedicated worker who keeps an eye on the goal and never wavers from it. With its ruler in detail-oriented and conscientious Virgo, this New Moon is the time when you must get real about your goals. No more empty promises of accomplishing something once you get this or that other things or future fantasies. Under this New Moon in Capricorn, focus on what you can obtain now:

  1. Brainstorm what you want to achieve, write the steps you must take to achieve it and then commit to patiently following each step no matter how hard it is and no matter how long it takes.
  2. Take the work you can get now and trust that it will be the right step in getting your dream job in the future.
  3. Work with what you have now and stop fantasizing about what you do not have but wish you did.

Finances:
Saturn, deeply connected to tradition and security, does not like to take risks. This New Moon empowers some profound intuitive internal thought about what you actually need to achieve financial success and security. We are told we cannot make a good financial living doing what we love. The truth is you will be financially secure as well as spiritually and/or creatively successful if you believe in yourself and work hard at what you love. You must be judicious about spending, and do without or do with less. We must make the sacrifices necessary to not follow the crowd.

The occurrence of Sun, Moon and Jupiter in Capricorn trine (a favorable astrological aspect) Saturn in Virgo translates into a prime opportunity for setting achievable and successful realistic financial goals and eliminating excessive spending. This is the New Moon to create a BUDGET and a commit to it. Capricorn spends conservatively, shrewdly and sometimes not at all. Do you really need the thing you are about to buy? Is it beyond your basic housing and shelter needs? How can you spend less and what do you really not need? If we are honest what ourselves, it is many things.

How can you do this? Start practicing Zen and the Art of Shopping to become conscious of your consumption of materials things. Be aware of how you are mentally and physically when you shop. Pay attention! As yourself:

  1. Do I really need this?
  2. What other ways could I use this money I am about to spend?
  3. Can I put this money away for my future instead of spending it now?

Future Growth:
This New Moon in committed Capricorn is the New Moon to dedicate yourself to becoming responsible for your emotional and spiritual growth and the enlightenment our human community on Earth. The threat of global warming is real, as is destruction through the heartless, thoughtless, arrogant warfare based on discrimination by class, race, and ethnicity. A very few constantly take from the masses so that poverty is at nearly everyone’s doorstep through uneven distribution and over-consumption We must awaken and cease these things or for humankind there will be no future.

Full Moon Rising:
The two weeks after the New Moon, the Moon waxes to a Full Moon in Leo on January 22, 2008. This means that NOW is the most advantageous time to build the energy of your intentions. Plan to start taking take action on your New Moon at the Full Moon in Leo.

Chiron in Aquarius, Part II

In the first part of this article we took a look at the ending of Chiron in Capricorn and the beginning of Chiron in Aquarius. It is a significant and somewhat painful time for those with Sun or Chiron in Aquarius (the latter would be a person about 50 years old, experiencing a Chiron Return).

So if pretending to be the great humanitarian or philanthropist or in a subtle manner chasing the spotlight and the microphone or withdrawing is not going to bring human connection, what will? What does this mean for the global community?

It means, in an individual level, to be you. Put on your nerd glasses, take off the makeup and be yourself. Cherish your eclectic habits and general eccentricity and allow others to do so. Chiron in Aquarius will wear you down, and it could be painful (!) until you do so. The compassionate healing that comes from Chiron in Aquarius is in being able to acknowledge your unique contributions to the world, to accept that you are a significant part of the world and that others enjoy your individual expression.

On a global level this is about the flowering of support groups for those are on the fringe - such as those dealing with sexual orientation issues, those who are out of the mainstream artists and musicians, and those screaming for civil rights and basic human rights.

Chiron in Aquarius is the portrait of the Wounded Community. It is the representation of the distrust of hope and retreat from ideals. It is a distrust of institutions and authority. It demands consciousness-raising to reveal how our collective ideas isolate us from each other.

Chiron in Aquarius last occurred January 1955 until March 1960. This was the suburban '50s in the USA, a period of withdrawal from idealism after the weary shock of war. In his final presidential address, Dwight Eisenhower, the great general, warned America against the growing influence of the military-industrial complex. Eisenhower was a prophet in that moment, even though the USA has ignored his message. The USA is known as a comparatively ill-educated country when it comes to math, science, and the arts. It is considered by many to be barbaric, blood-thirsty, war-mongering, isolationist and arrogant.

So what can you do on a personal level if you have Sun and/or Chiron in Aquarius? Allow this long-term transit to open your eyes to where you are approaching things with your head and not your heart. That approach will not work anymore because that shadow expression will only bring you pain. Aquarius rules astrology, technology, computers, lightning and thunder. It is the sign of brilliance. Now is the time for emotions to be integrated with the creation of computer programs. Think about how they will be used and how that usage might affect someone in the world. Astrology can be used to compassionately empower people and assist them in making better connection with themselves and with other people. What we are doing to the globe is showing in unusual weather patterns and occurrences. Think on ways you can do you part of be more compassionate to the Earth.

One last word - if you are Taurus, Leo or Scorpio, Chiron in Aquarius will deeply affect you, too. Taurus and Scorpio will feel it even strong than Leo. When life gets painful, think about what you can do to not just alleviate the pain, but to effectively resolve the painful issues that Chiron brings to the surface. Whether it is a physical illness, being overweight, inability to get along with your peers, or financial issues (all for example), it is time to deal!

Chiron in Aquarius, Part I

The pain of isolation, of knowing you are the “outcast freak”, the eccentric who doesn’t quite fit in with others no matter what you try to do, is the wound and the healing energy of Chiron in Aquarius. On February 21, 2005 Chiron ingresses or moves briefly into the sign of Aquarius. It remains there for a few months, returns to Capricorn, then moves into Aquarius on December 7, 2005 until April 24, 2010 when it moves into Pisces; it retrogrades into Aquarius on July 23, 2010 and then goes direct again until it reaches Pisces again on February 18, 2011.

When the microscope is turned upon Aquarius it is plain to see there is a NEED to belong to a group, to surround oneself with people and feel like you are part of a superhuman force. Can you think of any Aquarius celebrity, member of royalty or private citizen who surrounds herself or himself with famous or notable people and/or appears to be a great humanitarian and/or philanthropist? – yet you can sense she/he feels totally alone? In some sense, the Leo tendency to buy people’s love and respect is happening if that is what you see in a person born with a Sun or Chiron in Aquarius. They know they are on the outside looking in, but if they can just hide it by looking great in the spotlight, posing just right, saying the right thing, looking fashionable, giving away a lot of money and/or doing charitable acts, they think, things will be fine.
However, Chiron is now in the constellation of the Water-Bearer, and when Chiron it is in Aquarius, you can feel so isolated, excluded and out of sync. You are outside of things, so eclectic and eccentric. You may feel about to be swallowed up in the vortex pf humanity and so you withdraw, become aloof and defeat your very goal. What is your goal? It is to have authentic connection with people.

The effects of Chiron in Capricorn are apparent in the global economy. Chiron in Capricorn has shown the deep wound and infection of corruption in business by spiritually warped male authority figures. It has revealed the holes in a longstanding fairy tale of prosperity and official social order that has no soul. It has shown a spotlight on unmitigated institutional greed at the expense of human lives and dignity. Chiron in Capricorn has also showed how these diseases can be healed – by removing those so willing to be corrupt, punishing some and by instituting practices that are for the public benefit of all, not just to line the pockets of the already rich. Chiron in Capricorn showed that everyone is affected by what is done privately.

Now Chiron has begun its journey into Aquarius and it has a message for the human community.
So what is the full lesson of Chiron in Aquarius, how are we likely to see it manifest over the next year and what can the person with Sun or Chiron in Aquarius do to grow with this energy? You can read that in Part II of this article.
