Gaining and Losing Me, Uh-huh!

Saturn has not been in my 1st house as it travels through Virgo; however, today I was very shocked and happy to learn that without dieting, I have lost a tremendous amount of inches.

In June 2006 I bought a pair of low-waist jeans I could not get higher than my KNEES. Oh, it was sad.

Today I was organizing my armoire and took them out, deciding to see where they were on me now, exactly 2 years later.

They slid up my legs, over my thighs and hips, zipped, clung to my butt and hung loosely around my lower waist. I had to put on a belt.

Talk about mind-blowing!

I promptly went out for a long walk on the most populated street I could find.

Heehee.

I realize now I have been eating a lot less food, and eating healthier. I realize I cut out a lot of high fructose corn syrup, pork, gluten/wheat, sugar and white foods (like white rice, potatoes and flour). I also drink nearly 2 liters of water per day and eat a good amount of fresh fruit. I eat beef (I lurves red meat!!) 2-3 times per week.

Are you a Virgo who has lost weight during this Saturn transit?

It is also more than losing weight; I have lost some parts of me that were reluctant to put my body out there, reluctant to see myself as a woman who is as attractive as I really am. In working so hard these past 10 months I changed my eating habits, eating less food, and focusing on getting things done in my life, while dealing with critics and crazies, and reorganizing. The reward? Slimmer knees, thighs, and a thinner more shapely but as well as a smaller waist.

Hard won weight loss. Hmmm.

Thirty years ago, when Saturn last transited Virgo, I remember being slapped on the butt by more than one relative and being told that I was "getting fat". On response I felt so hurt, felt so ugly, came to believe I was unattractive to boys, and let myself be defeated by the criticism as a young girl, that I began overeating and eating badly (not only foods not good for me, but huge amounts, sometimes until my stomach hurt). I never saw that I was a beautiful and curvaeous young girl, and I turned inward trying to make myself perfect while beating myself up with food for not being "perfect" (pencil thin).

Now, I am shedding that protective layer, having come to quite a comfort with my curvaceous body, my full breasts, my butt, my thighs, my womanly goddess shape. Whomp!! There it is....

Uh-huh!!

Saturn Moves On....

By this Friday, June 27, Saturn will finally be off the Virgo Sun of those born in the first 3 degrees of Virgo (August 23-26), not to return for three decades. It has been a LONG hard journey and I have not heard of any Virgos with a 0 Virgo-3 Virgo Sun who had an easy time of it. Many went into hermit mode, into seclusion after the going got too rough and/or nearly impassable. Some gave up. Others have battle scars.

How are you feeling now that you have survived?

What did you learn these last 10 months?

How is your health?

What and who have you released?

What and who have you committed to -- to your surprise or relief?

Leo Rising, Chiron in Aquarius and the Roar of the Crowd

Be yourself.

I think that is the best way to live. I am hearing from a number of Leo Rising folks about how these last three years and this last year in particular has been rather challenging in terms of relationships with others.

The culprit here, I think, is Chiron in Aquarius going through their 7th house of open enemies. I know I have had an unusual share of complaints, issues and criticism during this time.

(You can read more about Chiron in Aquarius in a two-part series I wrote in 2005: Part I and Part II)

Remember Chiron is about wounding and healing. Perhaps there is a lesson here about checking in with others more about how they are receiving your brilliant sunshine of leadership. Perhaps there is a lesson here about being yourself and not hiding away because of others' jealousy. Perhaps there is a lesson here about learning to truly love yourself.

Sometimes there is nothing wrong with hermiting yourself away (lol, a Virgo would know about that) and re-emerging when you have had a chance to nurture and nourish yourself, regain your composure and give your enemies time to move on to some other interest than criticizing, antagonizing and picking fights with you out of jealousy.

You know you are a good person and good at whatever it is you do. Let them snipe at you; you do not need to roar or snipe in return. Just throw your regal head back, but your dignified chin in the air, smile warmly, laugh and walk by them with your mind focused on you and your next moves in life. You will have taken back your power and they have lost whatever they hoped to gain in trying to extinguish your brilliant Leo Rising light. When you were born, the constellation of Leo was on the horizon, flooding the world with sunshine and light. You were destined to be out front and out front you shall be.

Yes, you have flair, style, drama and, like Aquarius, are at your best when surrounded by a crowd of people. With a Leo Rising you do not hide who you are behind a cool and aloof mask like Aquarius does. (Both Leo and Aquarius are insecure, but the way you mask it is different; Leo shows emotion and Aquarius withholds it). You love people and enjoy seeing them be happy; you are bold about what you want at times because what you want is for your loved friends and family to have the best.

The key right now is to lead from behind. Do not seek a titled leadership position; rather do the job from behind the scenes and give lots of verbal support to others. Instead of being the Chair or Vice Chair, be a regular committee member and do the Chair's job...because most likely you are the most qualified one to do it and the person who is Chair or Vice Chair may even know how to do the job. But shhhhhh! Don't say that aloud. When March 2011 arrives and Chiron enters Pisces and the 8th house (depending on your chart), you will be in position to be back on top and you can breathe a sign of relief.

Think Celine Dion, Muhammed Ali, Donald Trump, Elton John, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Parish Hilton, Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Marilyn Monroe. (Did you know Zsa Zsa and Paris are related? Zsa Zsa was once married to Conrad Hilton and is Paris' great-aunt)

New Moon in Gemini - June 3, 2008

New Moon in Gemini
June 3, 2008
12:23pm PDT/3:23pm EDT/9:23pm CEDT
13ยบ Gemini 34’

This New Moon in Gemini falls in the midst of the Mercury retrograde in Gemini.

Gemini rules communication, information and transportation. This New Moon is about working hard to get a new start in communicating with others and about important topics, as well as to get some mental space so we can open our minds and not be ruled by fear, greed, and delusion. In this way we can be clear once the Mercury retrograde ends on June 19 (June 20 in Europe).

The principles at work here are Jupiter in Capricorn (generosity and abundance resulting from hard work), Pluto in Capricorn (revealing the truth and delivering it in a mature manner), and Saturn in Virgo (serving responsibly). It is a time when we may feel mentally scattered and focus in conversations may seem difficult. The tendency to be superficial is strong.

However, the New Moon in Gemini empowers us to overcome communication problems. That is because the Mercury in Gemini trine to a Yod of the North Node/Chiron/Neptune in Aquarius, the South Node in Leo and Uranus in Pisces. Yods can open us to great leaps in growth when we use the energy. Now is a two week period when we can question our relationships and the identities we have been using in those relationships. Now is the time to be open to feedback. Now is a time to make changes and transform ourselves and our relationships for the better. Now is a perfect time to practice being flexible, adaptable, and open to new ideas, goals and initiatives. If you stay attached to your ego, you will resist communicating and resist listening to the viewpoint of the other person(s). You will only damage your relationship by doing so. Do not look for ways to avoid the dialogue when your partner says “We need to talk” in the days surrounding June 3.

Desiring to be your best means you choose to consider another perspective and look at things from different angles. You have the ability to talk rationally rather than violently spar when you disagree with someone. This New Moon in Gemini is an event when you can take the time to learn to recognize when and how you express anger and tune out from others, and cease doing it. When you stop, you realize you have the capability to speak from a calm, rational and peaceful place, not from irrational wrath. The dialogue that ensues will bring freshness to your relationships on a professional and personal level. You may even find you can assist each other in ways you never thought possible.

The Full Moon in Sagittarius will come on June 18 /June 19 in Europe – the day before the Mercury retrograde in Gemini ends. What will you do in these two weeks to improve your life?
